Facial skin care and cosmetic procedures are an inexhaustible topic of conversation among women.
We all want to have beautiful skin, delay the appearance of wrinkles, and enjoy firm skin for longer. That's why we often turn to beauty specialists to help us achieve the best results.
Deep hydration, mesotherapy, massages, chemical peels and other popular treatments are offered in practically every serious beauty service establishment (salon). But what is the most suitable and effective? What helps fight aging skin the most?
The basic truth about skin care is that consistent daily skin care is much more important than occasional treatments at the beautician.
Various syntheses and reactions occur continuously in the skin, and new cells grow.
Skin constantly has to fight environmental influences, oxidation. Therefore, care is needed here and now. However, constant and correct skin care at home can certainly be supplemented with effective beauty treatments. Needle rollers, mesotherapy and biorevitalization
Scientific research
It is claimed that these procedures stimulate collagen production, skin renewal processes, firm and even out skin tone, reduce wrinkles, and moisturize the skin. There are even studies conducted on the effectiveness of these procedures. However, they are quite contradictory - some of them show positive results of such procedures and improved skin condition, while others do not show any changes in skin condition.
Unpopular truths about these procedures:
* Needles damage our skin and repeating these procedures frequently risks disrupting natural collagen synthesis.
* Along with vitamins, hyaluronic acid, or other active ingredients, other ingredients – preservatives and other excipients – enter the deeper layers of the skin, which may have negative effects.
Placenta and stem cell procedures
Scientific research
Unfortunately, there is no serious scientific research on procedures with placenta and stem cells.
There are only manufacturers' claims and the results of their minimally disclosed subjective research about the miraculous effects of plant, animal, and human stem cells.
Unpopular truths about these procedures:
* In order for plant stem cells to stimulate any regenerative processes, they must be alive. The cells used in cosmetic products and procedures are not alive, and therefore do not have the promised effect.
* Plant stem cells are completely different from human stem cells and, even when alive, cannot stimulate the growth and renewal of human cells.
* Plant cells used in cosmetics will, at best, act as good antioxidants.
* Only stem cells from the same organism can stimulate the growth of new cells.
So, after evaluating the information, it can be said that this innovation is definitely not an effective way to combat skin aging processes.
Cosmetic procedures with acids
Scientific research
Chemical peels are one of the most effective and scientifically proven procedures with acids.
Most often, AHA, BHA, TCA, and azelaic acids are used for these procedures. The acids help remove the layer of dead cells, stimulate the production of collagen and elastin, skin renewal, even out skin tone, and combat acne problems.
The unpopular truth about this procedure:
* Glycolic acid is one of the most effective AHA acids, it really exfoliates the skin, stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, improves skin texture and evens out skin tone. It is best suited for skin without major problems with pores that are not severely clogged, and can slightly smooth out acne scars.
* Salicylic acid (BHA) has the ability to penetrate deeper and is more suitable for sensitive skin, as it also has a soothing effect. Due to its ability to penetrate deeper, this acid will help solve acne problems and clogged pores, as well as stimulate skin renewal processes, collagen production, and strengthen the skin's protective barrier.
* Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) is more effective than the previously mentioned acids, it can help reduce expression lines, it is more used to reduce blemishes, but is considered quite safe.
* Azelaic acid is most suitable for treating acne. Mixtures of these and other acids are also often used to treat acne, pigmentation, scars and unevenness, and reduce wrinkles.
Other skin care treatments
Cosmetic procedures such as moisturizing, soothing, nourishing or saturating have a very short-term effect and are completely gone after a day or two. But, for example, a good moisturizing procedure can be a start to restoring skin moisture and strengthening its protective barrier.
Hardware cosmetology, lasers, and pulsed light should be evaluated separately - there are many effective procedures for solving skin problems, slowing down aging processes, and reducing wrinkles.
But more about that in another article.
And don't forget that daily care, not trendy beauty treatments, has a greater impact on skin condition.
