We nurture and care for our facial skin , invest in beauty products for it, but we pay much less attention to our body skin. If it weren't for cellulite or ingrown hairs, we would probably talk even less about body skin care. I'm not saying that body skin should be given as much attention as our face, because it is the face that bears all the adversities of life. Body skin usually lives safer under layers of clothing, but it still needs to be taken care of.
Body care: what is necessary?
Body care products are also necessary and necessary for our skin, both to maintain its good condition and to solve problems. First of all, you should choose gentle cleansers, especially if you have dry, flaky, acne-prone skin. Although 95 percent of body washes contain sulfates, high concentrations of fragrances and allergens, you can still find skin-friendly and gentler products. If you can afford to pay a little more for a shower gel, we would recommend doing so - the body surface is very large and not very friendly substances that get on the skin every day will have a negative effect in the long term, even though they are on the skin for a relatively short time and are washed off.
Body scrubs . For both the face and body, we recommend using scrubs with acids, not mechanical particles. They will never be as effective as acids, and they also have negative effects – they can sensitize or damage the skin, destroy the protective skin barrier and imbalance moisture. Therefore, use an acid scrub on your body at least once a week. It will not only remove the layer of dead cells, but will also help fight ingrown hairs, small pimples and skin flaking or dryness. Sun protection. It is essential for the skin of the body in the summer. If the day is sunny, apply at least SPF 25/30 to exposed areas of the body. If you are going to the beach and spending time in the sun, then without any hesitation apply SPF 50 and renew the protection every 1.5–2 hours. Don't forget to apply it to your hands too - they have to withstand a lot - both sunlight, water exposure, and household products. Moisturizers and
Body Lotions . The main question is, do you need to use a body lotion if your skin is not dry and you don't feel the need to apply anything at all? If you use a gentle body wash, you may not need to apply a body lotion or cream every day. However, if you use a regular shower gel with sulfates, you may want to follow it up with a gentle and light moisturizer with some humectants, antioxidants, a soothing agent, and a skin-conditioning agent. If your skin is dry, flaky, sensitive or red, then gentle body skin care
products are essential. We recommend choosing a body cream according to the same principles as you choose
facial products – avoid harsh substances, strong fragrances, fragrance allergens, alcohol, essential oils, etc. If your skin is dry or dehydrated – moisturizing products with urea, ceramides, hyaluronic acid, proteins, amino acids, collagen, oligosaccharides, fatty acids, etc. will help. Pigment spots appear – especially careful protection from the sun and strong acids in the cold season. A necessary set for body skin is a gentle cleanser, preferably an acidic scrub, and a moisturizing body cream. We do not forget that the body also includes the hands, so
hand creams are essential products. They should also have a good composition - natural oils are definitely desirable in a hand cream, as are moisturizing substances that are added to both face and body care products. Where you buy depends entirely on you.
